Technology, Media and Communications

Clinton Consultancy acts for several national telecommunications and telecoms infrastructure companies, as well as major television and radio stations, publishers and corporates seeking advice on intellectual property matters.

Our work with telecommunication clients has often involved pre-incorporation advice on the law relating to telecommunications, governmental approvals, representation of clients in the initial negotiations between themselves and relevant government departments and regulatory bodies, securing applicable consents and approvals, advice on incorporation procedures and tax liability under Ghanaian law.

We represent media clients in transactions involving the development, financing, production, video and distribution of audio visual, television and interactive projects. We also advise major publishers on all aspects of the law relating to publishing.

In Information Technology, we have advised on the laws governing domain name disputes; and on enforcing a foreign judgment obtained in a domain name dispute.

We also advise in conjunction with the Litigation and Dispute Resolution department on a wide range of contentious intellectual property matters concerning the protection of patent, trade mark, passing off and/or copyright.
