Crew Members, Non-Crew Members and Personal Injury

Clinton Consultancy is networked throughout Africa and we make sure that any sick, hurt, or dead crew member or non-crew member gets off the ship, even if the ship is on the road.

The necessary hospitalization and/or medical preparations are made with the help of the ship’s agents. We visit crew members and non-crew members who are in the hospital and make sure they can talk to their families and are as comfortable as possible. As needed, food, clothes, toiletries, and medicine are given out. The Club or Owner is given a full report on the state of the crew member or non-crew member and an estimate of how much it will cost for medical care and general travel back home.

If the crew member or non-crew member dies, Clinton Consultancy takes care of all the formalities, such as calling the Consulate or Embassy, setting up an autopsy, getting a non-contagion report, a death certificate, a sealed coffin, etc., and making sure that the crew member or non-crew member is either repatriated or buried according to local law and the wishes of the family and/or client.

For all repatriations, Clinton Consultancy carefully checks all the bills for the costs of the repatriation and, if necessary, accepts them on behalf of the Club.

If someone makes a claim against the insured or the P&I Club, our team of highly trained international maritime lawyers can help with negotiations, coordination, and giving advice.
